About me

I'm Jakob — a primary school teacher and IT coordinator in Berlin by day, and I build software, digital learning games, and 3D-printed objects on the side.

Black-and-white portrait of Jakob Neumann

Before teaching, I worked in geosciences: groundwater modeling and GIS on an EU H2020 research project (FREEWAT) at SUPSI in Switzerland, and research/teaching at TU Darmstadt before that. Since 2017 I've been teaching at Bouché-Schule in Berlin, leading the math curriculum and managing the school's IT infrastructure.

Most of my side projects grow directly out of that day job: tools I first built for my own classroom, like Mathefußball and the Sitzordnung seating-chart generator. Alongside those, I experiment with things further from school — a small SaaS app, 3D-print designs, and metal-printed objects.
